James Offenhartz is a contemporary artist working in Port Chester, NY. James attended Manhattan’s High School of Art and Design, The Art Students League NY, Pratt Institute, as well as the Accademia di Belle Arti Pietro Vannucci, in Perugia Italy, before graduating from Bennington College in 1982.

Currently, James’ work is inspired by Port Chester’s hard-working immigrant community. Working with oil paints, he seeks to capture invisible moments in ordinary people’s lives in an effort to convey emotion and empathy.
